Last Picture of You

Last Picture of You is about last wishes communicated through words, artworks, video,  workshops and installation art.

An intention for this project, was to encourage  conversations about an important fact of life, death. Both practical and reflective. How might we want to  our funerals to go? How might we want our lives to be  reflected on and lived…

2023 was the continuation of a journey that began 15  years ago when Arti asked others a short series of questions about their last wishes, having recently experienced loss herself. What came back was so moving it became an installation and a printed  booklet – the original ‘Last Picture of You’ (LPU).

In 2023 Arti revisited the original questions with Lisa and invited  friends, family and people she had worked with, to contribute, posing a series of questions to  act as a ‘window’ to their last wishes.

A  response a day was ‘released’ on this websitein line with the Deptford X  festival running from 22 September to 1 October  2023.

The original set of responses in 2006 will be held here.

The Latest…

Arti – I’m thinking about adding something around my friend Tracy Edwards as I’ve my own poems to share and one of hers as part of the last picture of her. A newer person in my life, Marco, created a stunning website for a close friend of theirs Roberto Pietro Guerrino that died around the same time as Tracy. It includes the layers of Roberto, including his alter, Dea.

Here are a set of responses from 2023 as the project evolved.
